The Performance Connection
Body → Movement → Swing → Hand → Optional Glove → Grip → Club → Ball → Performance
Performance Fitting connects your body, movement, hands, grip, equipment and measurable golf performance. PlayLonger starts with the golfer — understanding how you move, how you connect to the club and what the data tells us before recommending change.

Your hands and grip form the physical interface between your body and the golf club.

Performance Fitting Methodology
See how the complete Performance Fitting process connects.
From body and movement to hands, grip, equipment and measurable performance.

Why the grip is so important
Performance and comfort.
Grip size, profile, material, condition, pressure and the interaction between hand, glove and grip can influence comfort, control and the way the golfer delivers the club.
The right grip is not only about performance. It is also about creating a more comfortable and efficient connection between golfer and club.
Hand, grip & glove assessment
Where relevant, we consider hand size and proportions, current grip size and profile, taper, material, tack, wear, hand position, pressure, comfort, glove use and conditions — alongside physical limitations identified during screening.
Does the current grip support the golfer — or is there a measurable reason to investigate alternatives?
Grip pressure & hand connection
Measure the interaction, where available.
Mulli can add objective measurement of grip pressure and pressure distribution through the golf swing. This helps PlayLonger understand not only what grip the golfer is using, but how the golfer is actually interacting with it.
TPI
Physical screening & mobility
Sportsbox 3D Golf
Movement & swing analysis
Mulli
Grip pressure & pressure distribution — where available
Rapsodo MLM2PRO

The PlayLonger process
Understand → Identify → Test → Measure → Compare → Decide
We identify what is already working and what, if anything, is worth investigating. Relevant alternatives are tested and measured before a decision: Keep · Care · Adjust · Replace.
We change only when there is a measurable reason to do so. Sometimes the right recommendation is to keep what you already have.
Testing that leads to purchase
If a Grip Testing & Fitting session results in a purchase and installation of grips through PlayLonger, part of the testing fee may be credited toward the final grip and installation package. Ask us for details.
Fit → Install → Care → Re-check → Replace when necessary
Grip performance does not end when grips are installed. Condition, tack, wear and changing player needs can be reviewed over time.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions
Is Performance Fitting the same as professional club fitting?
No. PlayLonger Performance Fitting looks at how the golfer’s body, movement, set-up, footwear, grips, equipment and measurable performance interact. It complements professional club fitting. Specialist shaft fitting, loft and lie adjustment, club building and technical equipment fitting should be completed by an appropriate professional club fitter.
Should I change my golf clubs if I am losing distance?
Not necessarily. Reduced distance may relate to mobility, balance, stability, strength, speed, swing movement, equipment or a combination of factors. PlayLonger uses assessment and, where relevant, Rapsodo MLM2PRO data to understand the likely limitation before recommending a change. Sometimes the best first step is to improve the limitation, measure again and then decide.
Can grip size, footwear or golf-ball choice affect performance?
Yes. Grip size and type can influence comfort and hand connection, while footwear and insoles can affect stability, balance and ground interaction. Golf-ball characteristics may also change launch, spin, carry and consistency. PlayLonger can make practical observations and comparisons, while referring specialist technical club-fitting requirements to a professional fitter.
