About PlayLonger
What is PlayLonger?
PlayLonger is a Golf Performance & Longevity concept that helps golfers understand how their body, movement, swing and equipment work together. It combines golf body assessment, golf fitness, individual training and measurable follow-up. The goal is to improve golf performance while building the mobility, balance, strength, power and physical resilience needed to keep playing well for longer.
Who is PlayLonger for?
PlayLonger is for golfers of all ages, handicaps and playing levels. It has particular expertise in senior golfers, women golfers and performance-focused golfers, but it is not limited to those groups. Programmes are built around the individual golfer, whether the priority is movement, consistency, distance, speed, physical capacity or long-term enjoyment of golf.
What makes the PlayLonger approach different?
PlayLonger connects the golfer’s body, movement, swing, club and ball performance instead of looking at one area in isolation. Åsa Norderhaug combines professional experience with TPI screening, Sportsbox 3D Golf movement analysis and Rapsodo MLM2PRO measurements. Technology supports the process, while professional judgement and the individual golfer remain central.
Does PlayLonger replace a golf coach, physiotherapist or professional club fitter?
No. PlayLonger complements professional golf instruction, healthcare advice and professional club fitting. It does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, replace technical swing coaching or provide specialist shaft fitting, loft and lie adjustment or club building. Where appropriate, PlayLonger works alongside or refers golfers to the relevant qualified professional.
Who is behind PlayLonger?
PlayLonger was developed by Åsa Norderhaug, Founder and Golf Performance & Fitness Coach. Åsa has more than 20 years of practical experience in golf coaching, golf-specific physical training and performance development in Sweden and Portugal. Her qualifications include TPI Level 1, TPI Golf Fitness Level 2 and Sportsbox 3D Golf Levels 1 and 2.
Assessment
What happens during a Golf Body & Swing Assessment?
The approximately 90-minute Golf Body & Swing Assessment begins with your golf background and goals. It then examines mobility, rotation, balance, stability, strength, power and golf-specific movement. TPI screening, Sportsbox 3D Golf and Rapsodo MLM2PRO may be used to connect physical findings with swing movement and club-and-ball performance before individual priorities are defined.
How long does a PlayLonger assessment take?
A Golf Body & Swing Assessment takes approximately 90 minutes. This allows time to discuss your golf and physical background, complete relevant movement and physical screening, examine golf-swing movement and collect useful baseline measurements. The assessment concludes with a clear explanation of your individual priorities and the most appropriate next step.
Do I need to be an experienced golfer?
No. The Golf Body & Swing Assessment is suitable for beginners, recreational golfers, competitive players, women and men of different ages. You do not need a low handicap or a technically advanced swing. The assessment starts from your current body, movement, golf experience and goals, so the priorities are relevant to you rather than based on a standard golfer profile.
What should I bring to my assessment?
Bring comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, suitable training or golf shoes and the golf clubs you normally use when requested. It is also helpful to bring any relevant information about your current training and golf goals. If previous injury or healthcare advice affects your activity, share only what is relevant to safe golf-specific training.
Do I need an assessment before joining a PlayLonger programme?
Yes. An Assessment is the starting point for every individual PlayLonger programme. It establishes your physical profile, movement priorities, golf goals and relevant performance measurements before an individual programme is created. Individual PlayLonger FLEX services may also be booked separately where appropriate.
How does PlayLonger connect physical training with golf-swing analysis?
PlayLonger connects physical assessment, swing movement and club-and-ball performance. TPI helps assess mobility, balance, stability, strength, power and golf-specific physical capacity. Sportsbox 3D Golf helps measure how the body and swing move, including pressure shift, ground interaction, sequencing and the Kinematic Sequence. Rapsodo MLM2PRO then measures relevant clubhead and ball performance. These findings help Åsa identify the most relevant individual training priorities.
Programmes & Online Training
What is the difference between Move, Perform and Power?
MOVE, PERFORM and POWER are areas of emphasis within one individual PlayLonger programme. MOVE builds a physical foundation, PERFORM connects physical capacity with golf movement, and POWER places greater emphasis on strength, speed, power and distance. Your Assessment identifies what should receive the greatest emphasis; you do not need to choose a pathway yourself.
Do I have to become a member?
No. PlayLonger FLEX lets you book individual sessions and services whenever you need them, with no membership required. It is suitable for occasional support, visitors or golfers who prefer complete flexibility. Membership options provide more ongoing programme support and may offer better value for golfers wanting regular contact, coaching or measurement.
Which membership should I choose?
Choose primarily according to how much personal support you want. DIGITAL is for independent training with a structured individual programme. GUIDED adds regular personal contact and periodic measurement. COACHED provides closer personal coaching and more frequent measurement. Your Assessment helps determine what training, measurement and programme content you need.
Can I change my level later?
Yes. Your PlayLonger support level can change as your goals, location and needs change. You may begin with FLEX or DIGITAL, then add more regular guidance or coaching when it is useful. Equally, a golfer can choose a more independent structure after a period of close personal support.
Can I book extra personal sessions?
Yes. Extra Coaching can be added to a PlayLonger membership whenever you want more personal time with Åsa than your selected support level includes. PlayLonger FLEX customers can also book the same individual coaching and training services at standard non-member rates.
Can I use Rapsodo or Sportsbox more frequently?
Yes. Additional Rapsodo MLM2PRO Launch Monitor sessions and Sportsbox 3D Golf analysis are available as add-ons when you want more frequent measurement or movement analysis than your selected support level includes. Åsa can recommend when an additional measurement is likely to be useful.
What happens when Åsa moves between Portugal and Sweden?
PlayLonger is designed around seasonal living in Portugal and Sweden. In-person coaching takes place when you and Åsa are in the same location, while TPI Pro / MyTPI and digital follow-up can provide continuity between seasons. You can choose a Portugal Season, Sweden Season or a PlayLonger Year arrangement.
Can I join PlayLonger events or golf trips without being a member?
Where space allows, yes. PlayLonger Performance Days, Performance Weekends and golf trips may be open to non-members. Members may receive priority access or member benefits on selected events. The exact availability and inclusions are confirmed for each event or trip.
Can my partner join an event or trip?
Depending on the event, partners may be welcome even if they are not participating in every training or golf activity. PlayLonger events are designed to combine golf, performance, good food, activities and social time, so the appropriate participation options are confirmed for each event or trip.
Can my programme change as I improve?
Yes. A PlayLonger programme is designed to evolve. Reassessment and ongoing follow-up can show changes in mobility, balance, stability, strength, power, golf movement and club-and-ball performance. Åsa can then adjust exercises, priorities and the balance between MOVE, PERFORM and POWER without requiring the golfer to start a completely separate programme.
Can I follow my PlayLonger programme online?
Yes. Individual programmes can be delivered through TPI Pro / MyTPI for use at home, in a gym, at a golf club or while travelling. Depending on the support you choose, online golf performance training may include digital guidance, personal follow-up, programme reviews and adjustments. The initial Golf Body & Swing Assessment is still required before an individual programme begins.
Golf Performance & Equipment
Is Performance Fitting the same as professional club fitting?
No. PlayLonger Performance Fitting looks at how the golfer’s body, movement, set-up, footwear, grips, equipment and measurable performance interact. It complements professional club fitting. Specialist shaft fitting, loft and lie adjustment, club building and technical equipment fitting should be completed by an appropriate professional club fitter.
Should I change my golf clubs if I am losing distance?
Not necessarily. Reduced distance may relate to mobility, balance, stability, strength, speed, swing movement, equipment or a combination of factors. PlayLonger uses assessment and, where relevant, Rapsodo MLM2PRO data to understand the likely limitation before recommending a change. Sometimes the best first step is to improve the limitation, measure again and then decide.
Can grip size, footwear or golf-ball choice affect performance?
Yes. Grip size and type can influence comfort and hand connection, while footwear and insoles can affect stability, balance and ground interaction. Golf-ball characteristics may also change launch, spin, carry and consistency. PlayLonger can make practical observations and comparisons, while referring specialist technical club-fitting requirements to a professional fitter.
Events
What is a PlayLonger Performance Day?
A PlayLonger Performance Day is a focused one-day golf performance experience. It can combine TPI movement screening, Sportsbox 3D Golf, mobility, strength and power work, golf performance training and personal recommendations. The format helps golfers understand individual priorities and leave with practical actions they can continue after the event.
What is a PlayLonger Performance Weekend?
A PlayLonger Performance Weekend is a premium two- or three-day experience combining golf performance assessment, TPI screening, Sportsbox 3D Golf, golf, movement, strength and power, recovery and an individual programme. Digital follow-up through TPI Pro / MyTPI can help participants continue their work after returning home.
Can a golf club, resort or travel partner host a PlayLonger event?
Yes. Golf clubs, academies, hotels, resorts, tour operators and destination partners can discuss hosting a PlayLonger Performance Day, Performance Weekend or tailored group experience. PlayLonger remains an independent Golf Performance & Longevity specialist, while the partner retains its member, guest or travel-customer relationship.
Locations & Booking
Where is PlayLonger available, and can I join from another country?
PlayLonger is available in Portugal’s Algarve, in Skåne in Sweden and online worldwide. A golfer may complete an assessment or training period in Portugal or Sweden, continue the individual programme at home through TPI Pro / MyTPI and later return for follow-up or reassessment. This connected approach also supports golfers who travel or live in another country.
How do I start with PlayLonger?
Start by booking a Golf Body & Swing Assessment. The approximately 90-minute assessment identifies your physical profile, movement priorities, golf goals and relevant performance opportunities. Åsa then recommends the most appropriate PlayLonger pathway and support level. The assessment is booked separately and is required before joining an individual programme or digital membership.
